A woman who collaborated with former first lady Fabiola Yáñez on social issues will testify in the gender violence case involving former president Alberto Fernández. Claudia Andrea Silvero, proposed by the defense of the former leader, noted that she never witnessed episodes of violence in the couple nor received comments from Yáñez regarding this matter.
The federal prosecutor's office, in charge of the investigation, summoned Silvero to testify in the Comodoro Py courts. In her statement, the witness mentioned that she worked in social assistance in Misiones, Yáñez's home province, and that she met her through Instagram. She also stated that during her work at the presidency, she never witnessed violent acts at the presidential residence nor heard accounts of such.
Other individuals who have testified in the case include Noelia del Valle Gómez, former nanny of Francisco, the presidential couple's son, who noted that she did not witness physical violence at home. Cintia Tonietti, housekeeper of the Quinta de Olivos, also previously testified, denying having seen Yáñez injured and mentioning that arguments were normal in the couple's cohabitation.
Silvero detailed that Yáñez told her about differences with Fernández over matters related to third parties, showing her chats between them. Furthermore, the witness mentioned that the former first lady faced situations of "everyday alcoholism" that the former president tried to address without success. Finally, Silvero emphasized that Yáñez made trips to Misiones to meet two men and to an apartment in Puerto Madero to see another.
Silvero's statement before a notary public is part of the evidence presented by Fernández's defense in a case that has generated media interest. The witness becomes the third person suggested by the former president's lawyer to testify before the court.
